What to expect
Depending on scar type and severity, treatment may include microneedling, subcision, laser procedures, chemical peels or combination treatment. Multiple sessions are often required.

Aftercare
- No sun exposure, gym or steam for 48 hours
- Bland moisturiser and strict daily sunscreen
- No actives (retinoid, acid, vitamin C) for five days
- Do not pick flaking skin

- Active or recent isotretinoin use, where a gap is usually required
- Active infection, including cold sores, in the treatment area
- Keloid tendency, discussed carefully before proceeding
