Peels

Chemical peels (acne, anti-ageing, eye, hand, underarm, body)

Dermatologist-guided peels for the face and body.

Goregaon West, Mumbai · Dr. Pooja Shrivastava, MBBS, MD (DVL)

We offer dermatologist-guided chemical peels for the face, acne, pigmentation, underarms, hands, feet, body, neck and selected delicate areas including the eye area. The formulation, concentration, technique and interval are selected according to the anatomical site and clinical concern.

Face peels

For dull, uneven, congested or rough-looking skin.

Superficial facial peels can improve the appearance of dullness, uneven tone, superficial pigmentation, oiliness and selected texture concerns.

May help with

  • Dullness
  • Uneven tone
  • Mild pigmentation
  • Oily/congested skin
  • Superficial acne
  • Mild post-acne marks

What to expect: Most superficial peels have limited downtime, although redness, tightness, dryness or peeling may occur.

Important

Different acids and strengths are selected according to skin type and concern.

Acne peels

Targeted peels for acne-prone and oily skin.

Acne-focused peels may help reduce superficial congestion and oiliness and can be used as an adjunct to medical acne treatment.

May help with

  • Comedonal acne
  • Oily skin
  • Superficial congestion
  • Post-acne marks

What to expect: Peel choice depends on acne type and severity. A course may be recommended.

Important

Chemical peels do not replace appropriate medical therapy for moderate-to-severe acne.

Pigmentation peels

For selected pigmentation and uneven skin tone.

Pigmentation peels may be considered for selected cases of post-inflammatory pigmentation, tanning and other superficial pigmentary concerns after diagnosis.

May help with

  • Post-inflammatory pigmentation
  • Selected sun-related pigmentation
  • Tanning
  • Uneven tone

What to expect: Treatment is usually gradual and may require multiple sessions plus strict photoprotection.

Important

Melasma requires careful diagnosis and a broader management plan; aggressive peeling can worsen pigmentation in some patients.

Underarm peels

For selected underarm pigmentation and uneven texture.

Underarm pigmentation may be associated with friction, shaving, post-inflammatory changes or other dermatological conditions. A peel may be considered after assessing the cause.

May help with

  • Post-inflammatory pigmentation
  • Shaving-related pigmentation
  • Uneven underarm tone
  • Superficial roughness

What to expect: Mild irritation, dryness or peeling can occur. Friction reduction and post-peel care are important.

Important

Persistent or velvety darkening should be medically assessed rather than treated only cosmetically.

Hand peels

For tanning, pigmentation and superficial photoageing of the hands.

Selected superficial peels may improve the appearance of uneven tone, tanning, dullness and rough texture on the hands.

May help with

  • Sun tanning
  • Uneven pigmentation
  • Dullness
  • Superficial photoageing
  • Rough texture

What to expect: Multiple sessions may be recommended depending on pigmentation and skin condition.

Important

Sun protection of the hands is important to reduce recurrence.

Feet peels

For rough, dry and uneven-looking skin.

Foot peels may improve superficial roughness, dryness and dull appearance when appropriate.

May help with

  • Rough skin
  • Dryness
  • Dullness
  • Selected superficial pigmentation
  • Thickened superficial skin

What to expect: Peels may be combined with moisturisation and appropriate foot care.

Important

Cracks, infections, severe callosities or painful lesions may need medical treatment rather than cosmetic peeling.

Body peels

Targeted treatment for selected body pigmentation and texture concerns.

Body skin can develop pigmentation and roughness from friction, acne, folliculitis, shaving, sun exposure or previous inflammation.

May help with

  • Back
  • Chest
  • Arms
  • Legs
  • Knees
  • Elbows
  • Selected areas of post-inflammatory pigmentation

What to expect: Strength and formulation are adjusted for the body area. A series may be required.

Important

Body pigmentation should be assessed for its cause before treatment.

Neck peels

For selected neck pigmentation and uneven skin tone.

Neck pigmentation may be related to friction, sun exposure, post-inflammatory changes or other dermatological conditions.

May help with

  • Uneven neck tone
  • Selected pigmentation
  • Superficial roughness

What to expect: Treatment is selected cautiously because the neck can be sensitive.

Important

Persistent or velvety darkening should be assessed for underlying causes.

Eye-area peels

Very gentle, carefully selected treatment for the delicate eye area.

The skin around the eyes is thin and sensitive. Selected superficial treatments may be considered for certain pigmentation concerns after careful assessment.

May help with

  • Selected periocular pigmentation
  • Uneven-looking tone

What to expect: Temporary sensitivity, dryness or redness can occur. Treatment must be conservative.

Important

Not all dark circles are pigmentary; hollowness, vascular visibility, shadowing and laxity may require different approaches.

Chemical peel selection

There is no single 'best peel' for everyone. Different acids and formulations behave differently, and the same peel should not necessarily be used at the same strength on the face, underarms, hands or body.

Before treatment, patients are informed about the recommended peel, expected improvement, likely number of sessions, possible downtime, aftercare and cost.
