How it works
These are two different tools. Botulinum toxin softens the muscle pull that creases the skin above it, which relaxes expression lines on the upper face. Dermal fillers are hyaluronic acid gels placed in specific planes to restore volume that has flattened, most often in the mid-face, or to support a hollow under-eye. Both are injected with fine needles or cannulas after mapping your anatomy at rest and in movement. Dr. Pooja is Allergan and Galderma trained in mid-face filler work and Allergan trained in botulinum toxin, and the practice is deliberately conservative: the aim is that people notice you look well, not that you have had something done. Toxin results appear over three to fourteen days; filler results are immediate and settle over two weeks.
What a session feels like
Numbing cream is used for filler; toxin usually needs none. You feel small pinches. Most people return to work the same day.

Aftercare
- Stay upright for four hours after toxin; no lying face-down
- No gym, steam, sauna or facial massage for 24–48 hours
- Do not rub or press the treated area
- Arnica or a cool compress helps bruising after filler
When this isn't suitable
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding
- Neuromuscular disorders (for botulinum toxin)
- Active infection or inflammation at the injection site
- Known allergy to the product or to lidocaine
- Blood-thinning medication, which you should tell us about in advance
